Highlight on: Ticking Stripe Fabric
The versatile and timeless Ticking Stripe is having a re-surgence, evolving from it's utilitarian origins as a densley woven cloth used to cover mattresses to a must-have design feature!
Ticking, describes a cloth in cotton or a cotton-linen blend, recognisable by it's herringbone weave and two-tone stripe, generally with a white or cream background. In a ticking stripe you will have a central-coloured stripe with a thinner stripe either side, normally in the same colour.
The simplistic feel of a classic ticking stripe means that it can easily be co-ordinated and fits within many themes, from nautical to country French decor.
The possibilities with ticking fabric are endless, its durability and practicality mean it is a great choice for upholstery, such as chairs and headboards, whilst the weight of ticking fabric also provides a beautiful drape, perfect for curtains or roman blinds.
